LIVE OAK, SUTTER COUNTY — November 2, 2026. Live Oak’s city park directory identifies Riverfront Park Boat Launching Facility at 1100 Pennington Road as a Sutter County-maintained entry point to the Feather River.
Why the ramp was rebuilt
The city describes an original 1965 launching ramp built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and later improvements funded by two State of California boating grants totaling more than $1.1 million.
A different design for lower water levels
The rebuilt facility was designed with a longer ramp, two lanes and boarding floats, allowing boats to launch and be recovered without using the same narrow lane. The county, not the City of Live Oak parks department, is identified as the manager.
Check current conditions before launching
River levels, current and debris affect safety. The facility’s historic design description is not a live confirmation that the boat ramp is open, so boaters should consult Sutter County, water conditions and all vessel regulations before travel.
